Volunteer Opportunities

Temple Beth Torah can use your help!

Be a part of your Jewish Community and share your skills, expertise and time to make Temple Beth Torah a better place. Volunteers are needed on many committees, as well as for projects both big and small around the temple. Please contact any Temple Board member or the Temple Office at (510) 656-7141 for more information on volunteer opportunities. Several ongoing volunteer opportunities are as follows:

Chevra Chesed

Chevra Chesed means a “caring community.” Our TBT community is like a family in that we care for each other, especially in time of crisis. Illness? Just out of the hospital? A  family emergency? Death of a loved one? Please let us help you and your family by providing meals, transportation, emergency childcare, specific errands, and even visitations to hospitals, rehab/nursing centers, private homes, or minyans when and if needed. Our committee can always use more volunteers.

To sign-up, please fill out this form, or contact us at chevrachesed@bethtorah-fremont.org.

The Jewish Coalition for Literacy

Can you read this? That means you can help a child who can’t. The Jewish Coalition for Literacy is dedicated to eliminating childhood illiteracy by mobilizing tutors, engaging parents, and expanding home libraries to help underserved public school children throughout the Bay Area. We envision a society where all children can read and are inspired to reach their full potential. Join the Jewish Coalition for Literacy as a volunteer reading tutor. By giving just one hour a week, YOU can change a child’s life. For more information, please go to http://jclread.org/.
