A Word from Rabbi Schulman - 11/27/2020
I find it hard to believe that December arrives next Tuesday. As days grow shorter, I want to share with you two events to brighten your way. Both programs are online, free, and require preregistration.
Professor Steven Windmueller of the Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles is an incisive analyst of American Jewish life. I consistently find his blogs insightful and illuminating. On Tuesday, December 1 at 6:30pm he will speak on “American Jewry: Where Do We Go From Here?” He will offer an assessment of the election, rising antisemitism, racial injustice, Covid-19, and other critical issues facing the Jewish community in America and the larger world. Click here to register. The second event will feature Michael Solomonov, the celebrated chef who has helped popularize Israeli cuisine in America. I am a big fan of his. On Wednesday, December 2, from 5-6:30pm, Solomonov will offer a virtual Chanukah cooking demonstration. Attendees will learn how to make Apple Shrub, Abe Fisher’s Potato Latkes, Roman Artichokes with Arugula and Olive Oil, Poached Salmon, and Moroccan doughnuts with Cinnamon and Sugar. Click here to register.
Professor Windmueller will offer much food for thought; Solomonov delicious treats for the body. I am sure both programs will be enlightening and entertaining.
