A Word from Rabbi Schulman - 12/6/19

It is a great comfort to know that when I am away from Temple our members will be well-cared for during my absence. It is a testament to the strength of our congregation that so many offer their devotion, learning, and skills on behalf of our community.

I want to offer special thanks to our November Shabbat service leaders:

Jack Samosky, Sean Raman, Michelle Eisenbruck, Cheryl Cohen, Marla Kolman Antebi, Ted Bresler, Alan Weiner, Michelle Eisenbruck, Marla Zarrow, Joel Siegel, and Mike Regal.

I want to thank those who volunteered to lead Torah Study on Sunday mornings: Jack Samosky, Jim Cohen, Gigi Dornfest, and Edith Caplan.

I also want to acknowledge Temple officers and board members, as well as our staff, who always have the best interests of the congregation front and center.

My sabbatical was rich with time with family. A highlight was our gathering over the Thanksgiving holiday. During my five weeks I embraced the opportunity to enjoy cultural arts; including a wonderful Cantors concert held at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco.

My sabbatical was also a time to reflect; which is often challenging to accomplish in the midst of daily responsibilities. One thing that I readily affirm: I am honored and proud to be your rabbi.

It’s good to be back. I hope to see you soon.
