The 2013 Temple Beth Torah Beautification project will revitalize our Sanctuary and Social Hall to create a more spiritual and uplifting environment for our congregation.
The design includes a new Jerusalem stone wall surrounding the ark that draws inspiration from the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The ark itself is reshaped to accentuate the Tree of Life and our three Sifrei Torah wrapped in beautiful new covers. The Bimah will be crowned with a new Ner Tamid, fashioned by a Jewish artisan specializing in creating the eternal flame.
Eighteen new pendant lights in the Sanctuary provide a numerical representation of Chai (Life). Energy efficient LED light fixtures will further illuminate the Sanctuary. The new Sanctuary carpet will be sand-colored, recalling the exodus of our ancestors through the desert. Rounding out the design are new acoustic ceiling tiles, hardwood flooring in the Social Hall, and a warm and inviting repainting of all the walls.
