BBYO in Fremont
Marika Winheld BBYO (B’nai B’rith Youth Organization)
Marika Winheld (Mar-Win) is the local chapter of BBYO, an international teen-lead organization for 8th-12th graders. The purpose of this chapter is to create a greater sense of Jewish identity for the teens in the area while simultaneously having an awesome time. The chapter has weekly events and hangouts where they explore leadership skills, social skills, Jewish education and values, and most importantly have lots of fun! Bi-weekly meetings are held in the Temple Library on Thursdays from 7:00- 9:00 PM to discuss upcoming events and interact with each other. It gives teens the chance to have an alternative high school experience where they can make life-long friends and become involved in the Jewish community. BBYO also provides a connection with teens all around the Bay Area during regional events.
